Funeral Services

Due to my background and experience of working with children and young people – and as a Mother I believe children grieve in their own way, and should be supported individually and given the option to attend their loved one’s funeral.

I can:

• Arrange to meet a child prior to introduce myself, and talk about their loved one’s service. Facilitate a time for them to ask me questions.
• Hear their memories and ideas and include them.
• Or perhaps just 2-3 minutes before a service I can meet with them then, and give them a ‘VIP’ tour of the location to orientate themselves before the service starts.
• Create a ‘grief gift bag’ for them to walk away with.
• Involve them practically or even represent them visually.

For example: I have designed a bouquet of flowers colouring sheet that can be coloured in with a message and created into a 3D paper bouquet of flowers to be featured. This can then help set up a guardian or teacher with a child to colour and process their grief.  

Yes! Really yes! Your dog is welcome to walk in front of the hearse with the funeral director and could join us inside the venue.

If you are wondering about your own funeral service, I would be happy to meet with you, talk through your hopes and wishes, options, songs, content, and put together an informal “Draft Order of Service.”

This informal document can be then stored safely within your own records, and be ready for your loved one’s to refer to and know your clear wishes when the time comes.

If I am also available on the day of your funeral service, I would be honored to also officiate it.
